How we help universities connect with students from Central Asia

The Educational Bridge is a project by WE Media Group, reaching over 5 million monthly readers across Central Asia. We help international universities present their programs, campuses, and stories to prospective students through interviews, livestreams, and articles that build trust and inspire applications.

Below are a few examples of our recent collaborations.

SOAS University of London & Nazarbayev University — Joint Master’s Programme in Global Affairs and Eurasian Studies

In this session, we explored the joint MA in Global Affairs and Eurasian Studies programme offered by SOAS University of London and Nazarbayev University.

 

The speakers, Maja Savevska, Assistant Professor and Programme Director at Nazarbayev University, and Bhavna Dave, Senior Lecturer in Politics of Central Asia at SOAS University of London, discussed the programme structure, academic and research opportunities, and how studying across two institutions can support international academic and professional careers.

University of Milan — Admissions Insights and Study Opportunities in Italy

This session from our series with international education representatives focused on the University of Milan.

 

We discussed how to apply to one of Italy’s largest universities, available programmes for international students, and study opportunities in Europe.

 

The speaker, Anastasia Osipova, International Student Coordinator for Public and Corporate Communication and PhD Candidate in Sociology, shared insights on admissions, academic life, and the student experience in Milan.

UC Santa Barbara — Understanding Admissions and Student Opportunities in the USA

In this session, we explored how admissions work within the University of California system, what programmes are available for international students, how the application process is structured, and what opportunities studying in the United States can offer.

 

The speaker, Jevon Arias Edwards, Associate Director in the Admissions Office at UC Santa Barbara, shared insights into the application process, international recruitment, and student opportunities.

Central Asian University — Admissions Process and Academic Opportunities

In this session, we explored how admissions work at one of the fastest-growing universities in the region, what programmes are available for students, how the application process is structured, and what opportunities studying in Central Asia can offer.

 

The speaker, Tatyana Li, International Admissions Manager at Central Asian University, shared insights into the admissions process, academic programmes, and key features of the university.

Inside Woosong University Kazakhstan: Admissions, Programs, and Opportunities

In this session, we explored how admissions work at Woosong University Kazakhstan, what programmes are available for students, how the application process is structured, and what opportunities studying in IT, business, and digital technologies can offer in Central Asia.

 

The speaker, Merey Nurgali, Regional Manager, shared insights into the admissions process, academic programmes, the university’s international approach to education, and career prospects for students.

Study in Europe through the Erasmus+ program: live session with an official representative

In this livestream, students from Central Asia had the opportunity to learn more about Erasmus+, one of the most influential education programs in the world, with over 35 years of experience.

 

The session was led by Laura Paluanova, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan.

 

We discussed international credit mobility opportunities, how students from Kazakhstan can study in European universities for one semester or a full academic year, and what steps are needed to apply through their home university.

 

The session also covered eligibility, requirements, and how to access fully funded exchange programs.

How to get a full Women in STEM scholarship: live session with the British Council 

This session focused on opportunities for women pursuing STEM master’s degrees in the UK, including the fully funded Women in STEM scholarship.

 

The speaker, Nadezhda Trubova, Head of Education Programmes at the British Council, explained who is eligible, what the scholarship covers — including tuition, accommodation, and IELTS — and how to successfully apply.

 

We also discussed admission requirements, choosing the right STEM field, and how to strengthen your application through research experience, motivation letters, and extracurricular activities.

How to get a British education in Central Asia: live session with Coventry University Kazakhstan 

This session explored how to access British education in Central Asia, including who Foundation programmes are suitable for and what academic pathways are available after completing them.

 

The speaker, Simon Etherton, Head of Foundation and Chief Academic Officer at Coventry University Kazakhstan, explained admission requirements and addressed common questions from applicants and parents.

Michigan State University: everything you need to know about admissions and student life

This session focused on how the U.S. university admissions process works, what admissions committees look for, and what international students should prepare in advance.

 

The speaker, Chris Voss, Associate Director of International Admissions at Michigan State University, also shared insights on academic life, campus experience, and the support available to students after enrollment.

How to apply to Le Cordon Bleu Paris — online session with representatives of the culinary school

This session explored how to apply to one of the world’s most renowned culinary schools and what opportunities it offers to international students.

 

The speakers, Ingrid Breton Vasquez and Melissa Caicedo Betancur, Sales & Development Associates at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, explained available programmes, admission requirements, and the learning experience in France.

 

They also shared insights into career paths in gastronomy and the restaurant industry after graduation.

This session covered how to apply to a university in London, what programmes are available for international students, and what opportunities studying in the UK can offer.

 

The speaker, Ghazi Lashab, International Recruitment Officer at City St George’s, University of London, shared insights into admission requirements, academic options, and how students can navigate the application process.

How to Apply to U.S. Universities — Livestream with EducationUSA

In this livestream, students had the opportunity to hear directly from Madina Abugalieva, EducationUSA Adviser.

 

We discussed the five key steps to applying to U.S. universities, choosing the right institution, understanding financial aid options, and preparing for student visas and departure.

 

Madina also shared practical tips for high school and graduate applicants to strengthen their applications and avoid common mistakes.

In this livestream, students from Central Asia had the chance to speak directly with Dr. Aytakin Huseynova from ADA University’s Recruitment team.

 

We covered academic programs, student life, scholarships, and the admissions process, including tips for international applicants on how to apply successfully and make the most of their experience.

Michigan State University — Livestream with Senior Admissions Leadership

In this livestream, students from Central Asia had a rare opportunity to speak directly with Kate Irwin, Senior Associate Director of Admissions at Michigan State University.

We discussed the application process, academic expectations, student life, and how international applicants can strengthen their profile and avoid common mistakes.
